The evolution of a resolution

Resolutions are popular at this time of year.  Everyone is thinking about being more organized, losing weight and giving up vices.  Travelers are resolving to take more getaways.  DINE fans are planning to make more romantic New England getaways.  Tis the season for promises to improve ones self.

group shot 1At a recent meeting of the eleven Distinctive Inns of New England, members made their own resolutions.  Their promise was to offer a respite to groups like clergy, farmers, heath care professionals, emergency responders and our military.  Throughout 2014, DINE inns have resolved to honor groups of people who are not often recognized.  Their resolution evolved from a conversation about the meaning of membership in the organization. While losing weight and saving money resolutions may be in their personal repertoire, as a group, the Distinctive Inns of New England have resolved to celebrate kindness in 2014.

The first of the promotions starts in January and honors the clergy and those who work in places of worship. The DINE members able to participate in the January “Honor the Clergy” month have created the some enticing offers. In each case, proof of occupation must be presented in order to take part in any of the following offers, which are offered in January, 2014 only. These offers may not be combined with any other special pricing, promotion, coupon or gift card.

In celebration of DINE’s “Honor the Clergy Month” the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina says “thank you” to religious leaders who serve all faiths and denominations.  Throughout January the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina will offer 20-percent off all gift certificates purchased by or for clergy which can then be used anytime throughout the year. (Example, purchase a $300 Gift Certificate for just $240.). Says innkeeper/co-owner, Dave Labrie, “After the long and most times hectic year-end holiday seasons, we recognize and appreciate the true dedication of our clergy and feel everyone could use a break.  What better way to say thank you than giving the gift of time at our beautiful inn to be spent getting much-needed rest and rejuvenation.”  While visiting, some clergy may have an interest in visiting St. Edmund’s Retreat on Ender’s Island located in nearby Mystic, CT.  With beautiful surroundings and views of Fisher’s Island Sound and beyond, the serenity of Ender’s Island provides an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and rejuvenation.   Call 860-739-0331 or email info@innharborhill.com and mention the DINE January clergy promotion.
