DINE welcomes the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina

There’s a new kid on the DINE block and Distinctive Inns of New England is thrilled to welcome their newest member, Inn at Harbor Hill Marina.  Located in Niantic, CT, the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina is DINE’s  southern-most member and our Connecticut connection.  Now, there’s another distinctive inn offering romantic getaways and outdoor fun escapes for couples.  Joining other member inns in seaside communities, the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina offers unparalleled water views and access plus nearby access to Mystic Seaport’s attractions.

The Inn at Harbor Hill Marina offers two buildings – the original main inn and the newer Captain Clark House together offering 16 guesrooms with stellar water views.  There are plenty of guest rooms with balconies perfect for watching the comings and goings at the marina and enjoying harbor views.  Some guest rooms offer private fireplaces and soaking tubs, ideal for that celebration vacation or romantic Connecticut shorline  escape.  There’s a strong nautical feel to the location and the decor here, plus plenty to do and see in the Mystic Country town of Niantic, CT.  Niantic’s downtown is a quick 5 minute walk where you’ll find coffee shops, restuarants, boutiques and more.

Located at the top of the gangway from the Harbor Hill Marina, innkeepers and owners Dave and Sue Labrie have created a welcoming retreat with a sense of whimsy and cottage styling. This is one of those inns that is defined as much by the wonderful innkeepers’ sense of hospitality as by the decor, location and food.  Enter the living room at the maine inn and you’re enthusiastically greeted by Dave, Sue or one of the assistant innkeepers, and given a tour of the inn. Here B&B also means beverages and biscotti, which are available 24-7, along with a complimentary glass of wine, beer or soft drinks in the guest pantry.

Breakfast is served buffet style, offering hearty choices of hot entrees, fresh baked goods, fresh fruit, juices and coffee, plus Sue’s exceptional home made granola. We’re not supposed to tell, but Sue confided that her secret ingredient is yogurt-covered raisins and gingerbread pieces. During the warmer months, just about every guest, opts to enjoy breakfast on the porch with comfy rockers overlooking the marina and Niantic River beyond. For those who’d rather sit inside, a family-style table along with private tables are a good option too.

From Harbor Hill Marina, walk along the scenic boardwalk offering a two-mile jaunt around the harbor and into Niantic. The inn is just steps from Niantic’s bustling Main Street with restaurants and shops. Close to Mystic and all the shops and restaurants of the historic seaport and aquarium, this is the ideal base for enjoying all of Mystic Country, along the Connecticut seashore villages of Essex and beyond. Dave and Sue  have created printed itineraries and directions to just about anywhere guests might want to go, and will make recommendations for things to do and places to see, eat and enjoy.
