Fall is the season of color for Distinctive Inns of New England (DINE) and many say this is one of the most brilliant fall foliage seasons in memory. Prior to the big N’oreaster that hit New England this week, there hadn’t been many wind events and trees were lush with color. Of course even after Mother Nature stripped some of the leaves from trees with the recent storm, the color is still brilliant in Northern New England. Leaves are just beginning to turn at the DINE inns in the Southern part of New England, but there’s no lack of color from the mums, pumpkins and other decor. This is the ideal time for those seeking a romantic getaway to a welcoming New England inn.
We know that not everyone can take a trip to see all the foliage, so we thought today’s blog would bring fall color to you, compliments of the 11 inns in DINE country. Sit back and take a leaf, mum, gourd and pumpkin-peeping trip with us through New England’s beautiful fall foliage.
Starting in Northern New England, we visit the Grafton Inn, offering not only color but a beautiful bucholic New England setting.
In Lower Waterford, VT, both the Green Mountains and the White Mountains offer visitors colorful leaf peeping plus amazing hiking, ziplining and sightseeing. Return back to the Rabbit Hill Inn to sit by the fire and enjoy a fabulous dinner after a day of color.
In New Hampshire, guests are welcomed to the Chesterfield Inn by pumpkins and mums offering beautiful color to the entrance. Oh yes, and the foliage in the region is beautiful too!
On the Maine Coast, fall foliage is peaking. Guests at the Captain Jefferds Inn are treated to color both inside and out.
Moving on to Massachusetts, and speaking of mums, the Harbor Light Inn’s color comes in the form of orange mums plus the red, white and blue of our country to welcome guests entering their front door.
Yet in Southern Massachusetts and on Cape Cod, the leaves are just beginning to turn, and once again, mum’s the word here at the Captain’s House Inn in Chatham.
On the Connecticut Shore, the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina is alive in the color of fall mums and pumpkins. From orange to white, the beautiful array of pumpkins here fill the water views with fall color.
Of course the best way to see fall color is to see in person! Visit any of the inns in DINE country and you’re in for a colorful getaway. Don’t forget to book direct when you visit!
