Three ways DINE inns offer vacations that are all about you

hotel check inRecently we at Distinctive Inns of New England (DINE) have been hearing commercials on the radio about how Westin Hotels offer stays “all about you”.  We in the innkeeping world find the notion of a hotel chain, with hundreds of similarly designed and managed properties, offering individualized vacations amusing .  Perhaps Westin does claim the fame to  “Heavenly beds” but long before they were offering guestrooms with comfortable beds, inns and B&Bs have been presenting comfortable accommodations – often described as heavenly – to guests for centuries.  They just coined and trademarked the name.  Don’t get us wrong, we believe that hotels have a place for some travelers, but individualized vacations? We like to think that innkeepers can claim that trademark.

Make no mistake about it.  When you enter any of the 11 DINE inns, you’ll receive a personalized welcome, often from the owner of the inn.  Arrive in the afternoon, and there’ll be freshly baked treats awaiting your arrival and coffee, tea (available 24/7) and sometimes wine or beer tastings before you go out.  Some inns offer tea service in the afternoons too. You’ll be personally escorted to your room and given a tour of the property along the way.  Need reservations for dinner?  Your innkeeper will not only recommend their favorites, but they’ll pull some strings to make appointments. At about half of the DINE inns an on-site restaurant offers the perfect answer to dinner plans. These are the makings of romantic vacations that are all about you.

Let’s examine a few more ways that DINE inns offer personalized vacations.

Leave the planning to us

Mornings at DINE inns are often accompanied by a conversation with the innkeeper about your plans for the day.  Not sure what the region might hold?  Many innkeepers have designed itineraries for every interest – foodie, museums, shopping, hiking, soft or hard core adventure.  Your innkeepers are happy to help plan the day with adventures that are individualized just to you.  Whether your idea of the perfect vacation is sitting beside a roaring fire with a fabulous book and the one you love, or skiing, snowshoeing or walks on the beach hand in hand, your innkeeper will make suggestions and reservations for you.  While it may be possible, we don’t think we’ll find the owner of the chain hotel where you stay so involved in making sure your idea of the perfect day is fulfilled.

Not only do you walk away from all the clean-up around the house, you can leave the cooking to us too! You’ll awake to a hand-crafted multi-course breakfast filled with the freshest ingredients and cooked to your liking (all dietary restrictions are honored at DINE properties – you just have to tell  us in advance). Then, we take the dirty dishes away and clean them too.  Best of all breakfast is included in the price of the stay.  No $50 hotel breakfast at DINE properties.  That valuable meal is included in the price of your stay.  Leave for the day to enjoy fun in the region and you’ll return with your bed made, your room refreshed, and fresh baked cookies or afternoon tea will await.  These amenities could cost upward of $75 at corporately owned hotels.

When it comes to vacation, relaxation is the prime ingredient.  And when it comes to DINE properties, your stress free vacation is the mission.  From guest rooms filled with amenities like private fireplaces and whirlpool tubs to parlors offering DVD libraries, unique puzzles, games and chess boards, pubs and more, you’ll find everything you need to relax with the one you love at DINE properties.  Ask your innkeeper, and they’ll even be happy to take your photo enjoying a stay at the inn.  When is the last time the hotel GM was there to do that? Add in innkeeper/owners who truly do care about you and your relaxation, and you’ve got what it takes for a truly soothing time away. Leslie at Rabbit Hill Inn takes a picture of guestsWhen you’re seeking the ideal stress-free vacation, we hope you’ll consider an inn and one of the 11 DINE inns.  Please book direct for the best price.
