A compendium of quarantine distractions from Distinctive Inns of New England

Groundhog with signIt’s amazing to think back just a little more than two months ago to Groundhog Day when the most important prediction in our lives was how many more weeks of winter we’d have to endure. And even when March came in like a lion in parts of DINEcountry, who’d have thought it would go out like one too?  That defies the traditional weather prophecy of the month entering like a lion but exiting the calendar like a lamb. Not this year.  While not necessarily weather-wise, but for the 11 Distinctive Inns of New England (DINE), April and even May are sadly expected to be quite lion-like.

So what’s everyone doing during the quarantine? We expect while you’re not traveling, you may be dreaming about upcoming New England inn getaways.  We are certainly daydreaming about our guests returning.  The rooms in our inns are eerily quiet, and we miss our guests.  Without you, these rooms are simply spaces.  With our guests, our inns explode in a cacophony of excitement, romance, friendship, and fun.  Simply put, we cannot wait for our inns to come alive once again and to welcome you back.  When it has time to one again travel safely, we’ll be here with welcome signs blazing.

Meanwhile, we are reading, trying new recipes, thinking about gardens, updating, and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.  We keep stumbling upon interesting videos, recipes, and tidbits that we thought we might share with you. We wish we could transport you from today’s reality via a vacation at our New England inns. However, instead and in no particular order, here are some of the more interesting totally eccentric things we’ve discovered as we carry on through the quarantine.
