Tis the season to be jolly around the Distinctive Inns of New England (DINE). We’ve decked the halls with boughs of holly and the bells are certainly jingling as trees, wreaths, pine boughs and more go up around the nine DINE inns. Many choose to schedule their romantic getaways at this time of year in order to see the gorgeous decor which ranges from natural to elegant to whimsical to nautical around DINE country. We know that everyone can’t necessarily make it at this time of year, so each year we take you on a virtual tour of the beautiful holiday decorations in and around our inns. Let’s start in New Hampshire and Vermont today, then in future blogs we’ll take you to other inns in DINE country.
At Manor on Golden Pond in Holderness, NH
This stately manor is reminiscent of a country English manor house from the moment you enter the lobby. A flickering fireplace, lobby area, and cozy pub all offer plenty of common areas for guests. The holiday decorations here are stately, just as the architecture would suggest.
At Chesterfield Inn in West Chesterfield, NH
Natural and twinkling is the theme for beautiful decorations here in Western New Hampshire. The inn is decorated with beautiful trees featuring white twinkling lights, ribbons and more. Add a glowing fire in the lobby and you’ll feel the warm welcome of the holidays from the minute you enter the Chesterfield Inn.
At Grafton Inn, Grafton, VT
You’ll find beautifully decorated trees in each of the common rooms and mantles adorned with candles, lights and of course fires to add to the warmth of this historic inn. The Giving Tree is trimmed with the names of those who might appreciate a gift from if Santa can’t make it to their house this Christmas. Don’t miss the classic New England sleigh too.
At Rabbit Hill Inn in Lower Waterford, VT
The theme at the Rabbit Hill Inn trends toward elegant with thousands of white lights against a backdrop of green pines. One tree alone is adorned with 1500 twinkling lights and hundreds of glass ornaments. The innkeepers, Leslie and Brian Mulcahy adorn the inn with a beautiful collection of holiday decorations from their collection amassed over nearly three decades.
