The DINE mantra for 2023: Kindness

Innkeepers are kind to guestsKindness does not come as a new concept to the innkeepers at Distinctive Inns of New England (DINE). In fact, the nine DINE innkeepers are among the most kind-hearted people you’ll ever meet. Recall the Tea & Sympathy story on the DINE blog outlining all those non-tangible amenities that innkeeper kindness brings. So much of what DINE innkeepers do for guests may have no pricetag, but presents the kind of priceless thoughtfulness toward guests that money can’t buy. It’s these amenities that we at DINE resolve to fill our guests’ romantic getaways to DINE country with throughout 2023 – being human and being kind.

At the beginning of each year, we all tend to resolve to be better people, better dieters, better at exercising and so much more.  In an article recently published by Parade, 55 new and different resolutions focus on becoming a “better you”.  Their number one suggestion is to focus on passion, not the way you look.  Second comes “work out to feel good, not be thinner”. They go on to suggest stop gossiping, give a compliment a day and go a day without checking email. Random acts of kindness and travel on a small budget are within the top 13 suggestions.

Rabbit Hill Inn holding HUGS signKindness appears in many ways at DINE inns.  It comes in the form of innkeepers who drive their guests to the closest quick care office, loan personal items when guests leave them behind, or simply sit and listen to guests.  It also comes in the form of allowing guests to cancel their stay when a death in the family or impassable weather occurs.  The “DINE kind” comes by hustling to get a room ready so the guest who arrives three hours before check-in time can relax in their room. DINE kindness comes with the innkeepers’  compassion for the husband who makes his last visit to a DINE inn with his wife who is battling cancer or the parents who have lost a child to suicide.  Kindness comes in hugs from innkeepers. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who is more benevolent than an innkeeper.

This year, if you’ve resolved to be more kind or to fill your life with more kindness, fulfill your resolution with more trips to DINE inns.  Your DINE getaway offers a double whammy to travel more and to fill your life with gentle kindness, and comes with plenty of rest, romance and relaxation (also popular resolutions) too.

Skip the online travel directories. Be sure to book directly with your favorite DINE inn when you plan your next getaway.
