Inn Description:

Our Kennebunkport bed and breakfast is not far from Boston, we’re closer to Portland, and right in the middle to all that Maine’s seacoast has to offer. And if you travel with a four legged friend, don’t worry because the Captain Jefferds Inn is pet friendly and has the 2014 Bring Fido Award to prove it.

Whether you’re looking for secluded beaches, a professional golf course, sport fishing, kayaking, people watching or an historical walk about, your day begins at our antique dining table enjoying our special three-course breakfast.  After breakfast, lose yourself, exploring Dock Square, walking our quiet tree lined streets, bargain hunting at the antique stores, resting at the beach, or taking a shopping excursion to the Kittery Premium Outlets or Freeport Maine.

Check back with us in the afternoon for our specially blended teas, locally roasted coffee, home-baked cookies, cheeses and spreads. In the summer months we break out the freshly squeezed lemonade to enjoy on the terrace, while in the winter it’s hot-mulled cider. Spend your evenings dining at one of the many award winning restaurants Kennebunkport has to offer. After dinner, walk Ocean Avenue and inspire that budding photographer, writer or artist in you while taking in it’s never ending vista’s.

So if you’re looking for a romantic bed and breakfast, a relaxing getaway, or an active and fun-filled vacation, do what so many other travelers have done, and make the Captain Jefferds Inn “Your Very Special Place”. Check out our specials page for year round values.

Guest Comments:

“…This inn is exquisitely maintained and absolutely immaculate with careful attention paid to every last detail. Each of its 15 rooms and suites is decorated differently, the common rooms are gorgeous and welcoming, and the well-manicured gardens are a haven of natural beauty” — Jama Rattigan

“…Captain Jefferds Inn has been in our family for many years now. We’ve celebrated early Christmas and landmark birthdays here with our growing family house in 3 to 4 suites and rooms. We feel so at home in our suites as well as the common rooms in the main house. Nothing quite as lovely as sitting in the living in front of the fire Steve or Erik has stoked for us while we spend time enjoying our family. All this and amazing Chef Erik breakfasts! No lunch needed on these stays. Town is a short walk away as are scenic strolls. Cozy, clean rooms with all the well thought out extras provided. Just a first class, well run Inn that makes us want to return year after year.”– Susan D

“…This inn is a very special place. As soon as you walk through the front door you know you will have an amazing experience. Erik, Sarah and their entire staff will end up feeling like family by the time you leave. they are so pleasant, friendly and helpful…” — Dianne

“…We fell in love with this lovely Inn over Memorial Day weekend. The innkeepers, Sarah & Erik are warm & welcoming, the inn is elegant and comfortable and the gourmet breakfast’s are out of this world…” ==JMB Remick

“…From the exceptional staff to the attention to detail they made us feel right at home. This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast and we were unsure of what to expect but this lived up to everything we could have hoped for. We stayed in the Baxter room off of the main which was nice and private, delicious 3 course breakfast each morning. And everything was decorated for Christmas! I couldn’t say enough good things and we are looking forward to going back. I highly recommend this B&B. Eric and Sarah (the innkeepers) were great.

“…My wife and I stayed for a two-night getaway just before Thanksgiving. The rooms are great, the common areas are clean and comfortable, the staff are wonderful, the treats aplenty, and don’t even get me started on the three-course breakfast…delicious!! We’re already planning our next trip for the Spring!

“…This was our second visit to Captain Jefferds-this time for 2 nights and this visit was a great as the last one. We stayed in a different room and it was beautifully decorated and had all amenities. The view was terrific. Breakfast is off the charts with details (and recipes) given for each course. It is nice to stroll thru the gardens. Location is great as you can walk to downtown Kennebunkport to shop and eat. The staff is very helpful and has answers to all your needs including suggestions for dinner and the surrounding area. The owners are just so nice and care about their visitors. Our previous visit 7 years ago was for our 25th anniversary. A bottle of champagne was waiting in our room. …”
